DIAL-UP SUPPORT

Windows 9x Dial Up Instructions:
1. To start configuring dial up access for your computer, double click on the My Computer icon located in the upper left section of your desktop.
2. Double Click on
the Dial-Up Networking Icon. 
3. Launch the Windows
9X dial up networking wizard by clicking on the Make New Connection Icon.
4. Follow the Directions by typing a name for your Internet connection. (example shown Dial Maryland) Next, verify the modem selected is your correct modem.
5. Enter the Area code and phone number associated with your location. Please refer to http://www.dialmaryland.net/access.php for a current list of valid phone numbers.
6. A confirmation screen should show your successful dial-up connection.
7. Double Click on
the your newly created dial up connection (Note in step 4 our connection was
named Dial Maryland). 
8. Please enter your username and password for your dial up connection. (please remember to add the @dialmd.net to your username)
9. Please verify your phone number is configured area code phone number (without the 1 indicating a long distance call). To configure the Dial Properties click on the Dial Properties button below the Phone number entry. This will launch the dial-properties application
10. Click on the Area Code Rules and fill in the following rules. 1. Always dial the area code. 2. Add the area code with the new button. (see below)
